"A wonderfully rustic and authentic experience. Not too commerical, exceptional staff who bring the place to life and plenty to see and do. We spent hours here looking at all the exhibits, panning for gold and just getting lost in time. This is perfect for a family outing and for children of all ages... Cabins are available if you want to stay the night and enjoy all the nearby town of Mogo has to offer. A highly recommended experience into Australia's gold mining past."
Great day out! We really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot of things we didn't know about that time in Australia. Highly recommend a visit. The Gold Rush Colony Theme Park will not disappoint if you are looking for a great holiday activity near Batemans Bay.
"Nice place, and more engaging than many 'manufactured' historic towns. You can pan for gold in a wee trough. You can do this even if not part of the organised tour. Entry fee reasonable and cheaper than similar attractions. Friendly hosts too."
Our highlight (trip to Mogo) was a visit to the ultra friendly Gold Rush Colony which was marvelous value with its guided tour included. Kids can have great fun panning for gold and seeing what life was like in 19th century Australia. We enjoyed a day trip but overnight would have been better. Thoroughly recommend this as a high value day (or two) outing.
