What's Included?

Make the most of your time at the Gold Rush Colony with activities for all ages.

  • GUIDED TOURS DAILY - Fun and informative tours start at 10.30am, Noon, 1.30pm & 3pm. Simply register at reception and meet at the tour clock to join in. Your experienced and friendly tour guide will take you through the goldfields village explaining and demonstrating how the Australian pioneer goldminers lived in the 1850s. Other language guides are available by arrangement.
  • PAN FOR REAL GOLD - All tours start with gold panning lessons so you can pan for gold and strike it rich after the tour is over. There is real gold to be found and you can collect it in the vial given to you on entry and take it home!
  • PICNIC TABLES - BYO picnic and make the most of the peaceful seating areas found in the gardens and grounds of the Gold Rush Colony. Snacks & drinks available in gift shop. You can also obtain a pass out to stroll down to the many food outlets just minutes away in Mogo and return to finish your visit.
  • GARDENS & NATURE - The Gold Rush Colony has established gardens, lakes and ponds which flourish and display brilliant colour through the seasons. The secluded acreage property is located in a natural Australian bush setting bordered by the Mogo State Forest. Bushwalking and property walks available.
  • BIRDS & WILDLIFE - Apart from the resident geese and peacocks, you never know who is going to show up on the day. You might find some of the regular visitors - ducks, kookaburras, galahs, rainbow lorikeets and cockatoos. Listen for the complex songs of the shy lyrebirds. Lizards are at home here, kangaroos and other Australian wildlife are common.
  • FACILITIES & ACCESSIBILITY - Ample parking for cars, trucks and buses (coach pump out available). Pets on leash welcome, pram and wheelchair friendly on most tour paths, accessible drop-off parking at reception. Accessible toilets available.
  • RECEPTION & GIFT SHOP - Light refreshments, tourist information and an ecclectic range of artisan crafts, Australiana and gold rush themed memorabillia, gold, gold leaf and other gems - something for all to purchase as a souvenier from the Gold Rush Colony.
  • MOGO MAZE - Eureka Stockade themed wooden maze available as a stand-alone tourism activity for just $3 per person (not included in entry fee). Admire the Eureka mural beside the maze.
  • GAMES - Old fashioned games include hopscotch and quoits, there is a rustic mini golf course (small fee for clubs & balls, see reception) and you can challenge your friends on the giant outdoor chess board.
  • PHOTOGRAPHY - Wanted Posters and Period Portraits are available from 11am to 3pm during the NSW School holidays. Collect a great souvenier of your visit or stay. (fees apply)
