The Original Gold Rush Colony is a multi award-winning tourism attraction set on 13 acres of Australian bushland, which is 90% accessible by wheelchair.
When you first arrive, there is a drop off point at reception to enable wheelchair access directly into the Reception and Gift Shop area. Fully accessible, wheelchair friendly toilet facilities are available for the convenience of day visitors to the Gold Rush Theme Park.
The main pathways of the Gold Rush Colony village are suitable for wheelchairs. Of the many displays and exhibits in the Gold Rush tour, there are only 3 buildings that are not accessible by wheelchair - these are the Wash House, Jail and the Country Chapel. All other buildings have easy access.
It is recommended that you join up with the daily guided tours, so that staff is on hand to assist with any special directions - for example, there is a wheelchair accessible entrance to the gold mine tunnel so that visitors who are wheelchair bound will not miss out on having the full experience of the gold mining tunnel displays and unique historical atmosphere.
Accommodation guests holidaying on the NSW South Coast will be delighted with the fully accessible ASA approved self contained 2 bedroom cabin which is available. Featuring fully wheelchair accessible kitchenette and all the features you will need to be as independent as possible. The cabin is also pet friendly, so you can bring your faithfull companion with you on your holiday (see link below).
