Birdlife - Bower Bird's Nest

The Original Gold Rush Colony has been home to a bower bird for many years. Visitors strolling across Bower Bird Bridge may think we are an untidy bunch, but it is the bower bird that has collected bright blue bits and bobs to place in his bower.

Each year he rebuilds in a slightly different position around the bridge, to attract his lady. If she walks through the bower she has accepted him as a mate.

Small wonder that newly weds wedding photos on Bower Bird Bridge sometimes replace the traditional  ones of carrying of the bride over the threshold.
