Read write-ups from newspaper and magazine reviews about The Original Gold Rush Colony award-winning tourism attraction, accommodation, functions and weddings venue - Mogo South Coast NSW Australia.

My favourite lesson is where learning is taken out of the classroom into the real world.  This is particularly true with a recent three day, two night excursion for our Years 5-6 students.  Learning about life during the Gold Rush is often difficult to explain using books and pictures.  But to experience life in a gold mining village is the best way to see and learn.

Mogo Maze is the newest attraction to open on the Eurobodalla southcoast. Located on-site at the Gold Rush Colony Mogo, the 500 square metre maze is designed to give visitors a taste of what life was like during Australia’s Gold Rush.

Traveling along the coast from Batemans Bay, past the coastal villages of Rosedale and Tomakin, you will reach Mossy Point and Broulee, both of which are popular with holiday makers for central locations and great beaches from which to discover the attractions of this special part of the region.......

On our Scout camp south we went to Mogo. We spent many hours at Mogo Zoo looking and and learning about endangered animals.... We also visited Old Mogo Town seeing how people lived in the olden days.  The highlight of this day was panning for gold and actually finding some to bring home.

Mogo is one of the south coast's most historical and cultural towns.  Surrounded by state forest and with a population of 250, stepping into Mogo is like stepping back in time.

The main event of the weekend  "the bush dance" was held in the Diggers Rest Tavern at Old Mogo Town. We arrived at the tavern to be greeted by a sea of flannel and cowboy hats and I could see this was going to be a big night. After the very deliciious meal  we weren't disappointed with the bush band keeping everyone up and dancing.

Old Mogo Town has played host to a wedding of international proportions.
Wagga Wagga refrigeration mechanic Karl Flannagan fell for Canadian student Cheryl Dowler when they met while backpacking through Europe.  The couple settled in her home town of Sorrento BC, five hours from Vancouver, but decided it was only fair they got married in Australia.

Local Recognition:  Old Mogo Town owner Maureen Nathan , who was a nominated for the Employer of the Year Awards, was pictured with Minister for Workforce Participation Sharman Stone. A flexible work environment and giving people a fair go led to Old Mogo Town's nomination at this year's Prime Minister's Employer of the Year Awards.

It's GOLD: Bomaderry High School year 7 students brought their Japanese exchange visitors for a little local culture with vanishing trades and a taste of gold fever at OLD MOGO TOWN last Monday.

Old MogoTown pulsed with life once again as around 100 would-be gold miners from Broulee Public School put the old mining town through its paces this week.

As per the curriculum, the children are expected to learn about the period of time surrounding the gold rush. Old Mogo Town is the perfect living example of that exact period of time.
