Owner

Maureen is the primary owner and driving force behind the scenes of this NSW South Coast family owned business.

Maurreen purchased Old Mogo Town to help keep the European History of Australia and the local Koorie History alive and to provide a "stay another day" holiday activity for the tourists to the Batemans Bay and greater South Coast region, South of Sydney.

For the past 11 years she has relentlessly continued to grow, expand and invest into what was then "Old Mogo Town", a small rather unknown tourist attraction in Mogo.

Today, The Original Gold Rush Colony is a multi award-winning Heritage and Education venue, a must do when visiting the South Coast, a leading destination for School groups and popular weddings and functions venue.

A recently built cabin & bunkhouse accommodation sleeps over 140 guests and can host a variety of tourists from back packers to school camps and families, and is also a unique setting for groups and destination weddings.

Maureen represents the Original Gold Rush Colony at Principals Conferences in NSW and ACT, appearing in her now trademark 1850's blue dress and blue bonnet.

Maureen is a retired pharmacist who now travels extensively, gathering information as to how to better the presentation of the 1850's Gold Rush era, within a private budget.
