International Flavour To Mogo Nuptials

Old Mogo Town - The Only Venue To Tick All The Boxes

Old Mogo Town has played host to a wedding of international proportions.
Wagga Wagga refrigeration mechanic Karl Flannagan fell for Canadian student Cheryl Dowler when they met while backpacking through Europe.  The couple settled in her home town of Sorrento BC, five hours from Vancouver, but decided it was only fair they got married in Australia.

Via the internet, they started hunting for somewhere with on-site accommodation, set among nature, with lots of native wildlife and plenty of interesting sights nearby for tourists.

"I knew my family were going to travel; we wanted his family to travel a bit... and on-site accommodation so both families could get to know each other."

Old Mogo Town was the only place that ticked all the boxes at a reasonable price, and cruising through pictures on countless websites belonging to local attractions and accommodation showed the Batemans Bay area provided the perfect location.

"Batemans Bay was also big enough to get everything we needed"

The wedding held on Saturday was organised with precision - the 10 Canadian guests were given 2 years notice so they could organise a proper holiday - those guests had alread been to Cairns and the Great Barier Reef before arriving at Mogo last week.

Much of the wedding, with a simple natural theme, was organised over the internet and on the phone......
