Quick thinking by Manager Gerogina Jackson, and Rapid Response Time by the Mogo Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and Fire Services of the Batemans Bay area averted what could have been a disaster.

A few Minutes after opening the office, Georgina noticed an acrid smell.  The building rapidly filled with the hazey odour. She phoned the Fire Services, who decended on The Original Gold Rush Colony from all directions.

It was quickly established by the experienced men that the burning smell came from an electrical fault in a small  self contained hot water service in the office. CO2 foam rapidly extinguished any danger.

We are all thankful that the fault occured during trading hours. If it had occured when the office was not attended the building could have turned into ashes and a fire possibly devestated the entire Colony, and the surrounding Mogo State Forest.

This daylight event, demonstrated how rapid, efficient, willing and dedicated our Fire Fighters are. We are all  estremely grateful for their efforts.
