The Colony is just off the Princes Hwy, behind the Mogo Village between Batemans Bay & Moruya on the south coast of NSW. Whether or not you decide to have your wedding reception at the Gold Rush Colony you are welcome to book your ceremony on our grounds or in our buildings depending on the size of your wedding party and your unique requirements.

The property contains an 1850s Australian Gold Rush replica town and is surrounded on three sides by the Mogo State Forest. With a genuine Australian Bush setting, beautiful country gardens and lakes there are many unique wedding photo opportunities to be found.

Country Church Wedding Ceremony

The Original Gold Rush Colony has its own quaint Non Denominational Church where a Marriage Celebrant of your choice can conduct your special ceremony. Our historic church seats up to 60 guests and sets the scene for an old fashioned ceremony laced with simplicity. Imagine the bride arriving by horse drawn carriage or vintage car...

Natures Bounty Wedding Ceremonies

Depending on the time of year there are glorious flowers in bloom, lilies on the lake, colourful birds and butterflies to enhance your outdoor wedding ceremony. There are many beautiful wedding ceremony setting throughout the property.

You can choose to have your ceremony in the nooks and crannies within our natural Gardens, by the Waterwheel, under the wisteria covered Pergola or on the jetty overlooking the lake. Go country and rustic with an Australian bush setting under the gumtrees.

South Coast Local Wedding Receptions - Guest Accommodation

The Gold Rush Colony Wedding venue is flexible, if you decide to have just your wedding ceremony on the grounds we can cater for your visiting guests accommodation and possibly assist with some transportation to the local reception centre of your choice.

The colony has the capacity to provide for all your wedding needs with full destination weddings (exclusive property and accommodation) use and unique wedding receptions for all sized groups
