Community Activity & Charity

Many members of staff have a history with The Bay Theatre Players, the excellent local amateur theatrical group. These include Rob Wombey, Ross Hosking, Bob Soper, Barbara Gellatly, Elizabeth McLennan, Maureen Nathan.

 The Gold Rush Express is used as the transport for the "Mogo Magic" Football team for away games.  This Creation of the team was the initiative  of Simon Wheatly , and has resulted in many youngsters from Mogo and surrounds participating in the AFL junior competition.

The Gold Rush Express participates in festivals and events in Batemans Bay and Moruya to add colour to the event or the parade. Most recently is was used to transport the mermaids for the Seaside Festival.

The Gold Rush Colony has a support policy with Fiona Lodge and Yurama house ( both houses supporting children with cancer) where residents get a free pass into the property.

The Diggers Rest Tavern, is offered to Mogo residents as a meeting place for community meetings.

The Gold Rush Colony works closely with fellow tourim operators to promote the region as a whole.

Management regularly gives vouchers for free entry, or accommodation packages to schools and charities to use as prizes in their fundraising and other activities. Yearly we support the  RSPCA, Relay for life, Eurobodalla Show, Dream and Achieve, Snowy Hyrdro and many many more.

The Original Gold Rush Colony gives an annual award at Batemans Bay High School for the most improved public speaker.
